Cannot get players into Savage World games - Hangs when downloading files

(Cross posted in the Discrod server)

Has anyone had any problems getting players to download the files to get into a Savage Worlds game? I'm at my wits end right now...

I can get players in the D&D 5e game without a problem (just ones that came with FG), but when I startup a SW game it says "Downloading Files", I can see they connected in the chat, but the players FG just hangs there. Some users the progress bar will go a short way before stopping.
I've tried getting them into some campaigns I had working before, and no one can get into those anymore either.
I deleted and reinstalled through "update" all modules, rulesets and vault files. I'm not including any extensions and have all modules blocked to players.
As an additional note, this does not work with the SavageWorlds, or SWD rulesets. And I can connect from a separate instance on my PC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is strange since normally this kind of issue points to anti virus issues, or router issues with flood protection or similar. But if you can host other rulesystems then that doesn’t seem to be the case.

As a test however can you try switching off your AV when your players connect just in case that might be the issue.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Ive noticed recently that download times for Savage Worlds have increased. This may be due to the fact that there are two rule sets even though only one at a time is used, but I’m just speculating. In my games we discovered that patience is the key. I think what happens is that most people assume it has stopped downloading, quit out of FG, and start the process up again; however, once they get to the spot where it appears to hang, if they leave it alone, it will eventually finish downloading, you just have to continue to wait for it.

This could be something like flood protection on the GMs router. Players joining a 5E game don't download the 5E.pak ruleset - as everyone already has this. But when a player joins a Savage Worlds game, if they haven't bought the ruleset themselves, they have to download the SavageWorlds.pak ruleset from the GM - which could well trigger flood protection, or similar, on the router.

Also, recently, some people have been reporting issues where there provider is AT&T - what provider do you use?

    Yep, I got AT&T
Who'd have thought there'd be a price to pay for fiber networking?

I've tried turning off my virus protection, and a players.
I had a player try to connect and we waited about 20 minutes, his log file shows a whole lot of this:

(I don't see how to attach the file, otherwise you'd get the whole thing)

I'm going to look into the flood control thing. And then just be very upset for backing FGU if my IP won't let me use it.

Ok, per the manufacturer to clear the flood control, I needed to do a factory reset.
Annnnnnnnd... I wasn't thinking and cleared out all my port forwarding addresses. D'oh!

But more importantly, the problem continues.

Yeah, unfortunately we haven't found a base solution to this. The other people on AT&T have found they have to use a VPN to get around the issues with AT&T. This is a complete pain, but seems to be necessary at this point, until we find out if there is a way to get around it on the router... it might take someone bashing there head against AT&T support until they find someone who knows what they're talking about.

Otherwise, look at the solutions mentioned here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...d-Alternatives

The "Cloud" campaign option in FGU should get round this issue.
