Pregens for Hoard of the Dragon Queen

Hi all, hope everyone is in good health. I plan on running the Hoard of the Dragon Queen and wanted to set up some pregens. I've searched the forum for a reference and found that it can be added to a module by editing its XML file from the Developers Guide. Here. Seems like a long process to a simple chore. But I am intrigued by the topic. Does anyone have a complete pregen with proper formatting that could be dropped in and copied to the XML file? Is it possible that the 2 college classes I took on programming and 1 on game dev will come into use? - the Darce!

Create your FG campaign ready for the players, and make the characters in the campaign. When the players login they'll see all of the characters you've created and can select which one they'd like to use - then they become the owner of that PC.

I don't know how old the post you were looking at is, but you can export characters to a module now using /export as normal. Create the characters in a creation campaign and then just export them to a module. However that isn't necessary if your players are just joining your game as Trenloe says above.
