LF DM for solo game! Character inspired by anime- starts weak, absorbs abilities!
FG License: Ultimate
Time Zone: Central
Day(s) of week, frequency, and time: I'm a truck driver, so my schedule is a bit uncertain. I should be able to reliably commit to any time on Sundays, and am certainly up for squeezing in some extra time wherever possible.
Term: Long
Voice: Yes
Game System Preferred: 5e since I'm most familiar, but up for trying others. Pathfinder, Starfinder, w/e.
Game System Experience: 5e, a little Pathfinder 2e
Fantasy Grounds Experience: Decent, been a long time though.
I'm 31!
---
Right so, I can be fairly wordy, so I'll start with a TL;DR!
My idea is for a character that starts off as a normal human- no class, all stats 10. But I have one special ability... I can absorb abilities and characteristics from dead people/monsters. My idea for how it will start is that my pet cat will die, and that's the first time my ability will kick in!
I want it to be a solo game for multiple reasons. Most importantly is my schedule being uncertain, so there's just no way it would work with multiple people. Of course, also wanting to play such a unique and overpowered character, that wouldn't work well with other party members.
I think this idea will also be very fun for a DM that's interested in it!

Now for the longer version.
As for the specifics of how this ability will work, I've been thinking about it. We can work together to iron it out more of course, but here's what I have so far.
I'm thinking that, when I come across a creature that has died within a certain amount of time (a day, a week?), my ability can trigger, allowing me to draw characteristics from that creature.
My initial thought was that I would just choose any single characteristic, but it would take so very long to get everything I wanted, and would lead to too many frustrating decisions. So instead, I'm thinking I can choose 1 thing from every category on the stat sheet. One attribute, one ability, one spell slot, etc. Again, we can work together to nail down the details. Spells in particular, I'm unsure how I want to handle. Because I would think it would be rare for me to come across a dead spellcaster, and it would suck to only be able to learn one spell. And on the flip side, just learning all of them, well that's probably too fast. Also, I want to be able to absorb enchanted items!
But anyway, the general idea is that my guy will start off weak, and be able to acquire power over time. Which is straight out of pretty much every reincarnation anime.
The end goal, of course, will be to end up with an extremely powerful character, and then the game will mostly be focused on the politics of the world. How the world reacts to an extremely powerful figure. What will my goals be? How long can I keep my powers hidden? This is why I think it'll be fun for the DM! I certainly won't just be a murder hobo! Even though my ability would directly incentivize it! I won't be a pure-hearted goody-two-shoes, either...
So yeah, that's the rough idea! I really hope there's someone out there who'll be interested in exploring this with me! I think it'll be a ton of fun! A unique way to play D&D.

I'm still really hoping to find a DM interested in running a solo game for my unique character idea! I realize I'm asking for a bit much- solo game, uncertain schedule, overpowered character- but I truly think this would be fun for the right DM that's into the idea.

I have a system that I have created that needs playtesting and would be a good fit for this type of narrative campaign.
