Details of your scenario: Welcome to Orbalon, where a fertile river valley thrives in defiance of the darkness that surrounds it. To the east, darkling hordes and the Aethniad threaten the peace of the valley. In the east, the cruel Bathog hunt through lightless caves strewn across the Oreshore Mountains. Between them, plague-giants spreading disease and death, and the war-cult of Bellus plots beneath a crown of feathers.
The people of the valley are stubborn, independent, and unbowed, Dwarves, gnomes, and humans who answer to no king and survive because they rely on each other. Old evils are stirring. There are more than a few stories of Nathreign, the White Demon, whose reign of terror turned the Endavar River red, and left the floor of the Caldri riddled with bones.
Its somewhat of a sandbox. Bring a character with a reason to fight for something, and the valley will give you plenty of reasons to regret it.
