Custom IFT check
I'm trying to do a custom IFT check (5E, 2024 rules). Here's the syntax that I think should work:
[Rune] IFT: CUSTOM(Something); ATK: 1
My character has that effect on him. He's on the Combat Tracker. He's targeting a basic Orc (with no conditions).
But, when he attacks, I see the [EFFECTS +1] in the chat window, and 1 is added to the roll. I only want that to happen when I target an NPC with the "Something" condition.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks!
Edit: If I take that effect off, then it doesn't happen, so it's not caused by some other effect.Last edited by jkeller; June 18th, 2025 at 00:04.

Remove the [Rune] portion. IFT has to be within a unique section of the effects - FG is looking at [Rune] IFT, ignoring it as it's not a valid effect name, and applying the ATK: 1 effect as normal, because it's ignored the first effect as it's invalid.
If you want to put a description in the effects line, end it with a semi-colon. For example: [Rune]; IFT: CUSTOM(Something); ATK: 1Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!
