FGU Map Editor: Line of Sight Shadow

FGU Map Editor: Line of Sight Shadow

I have used the FGU v4.7.1 Map Editor to add Line of Sight to the first map.

The second map is from the Infinite Staircase's Ziggurat adventure. In the Ziggurat screenshot, the areas where the PCs have already been to the right of the map is greyed out like a Shadow.

However, in the first map that I added Line of Sight, the Shadow effect is not visible. Please let me know how to add this Shadow feature to the FGU edited map.

This is called the Fog of War. There is a setting in options which you should set to 'PC' if you want the players to 'see' where they have already been on a map. If this is set to off then Fog of War won't appear.

Fog of war also doesn't persist if the tokens are removed from the map or if they are moved by the DM using drag without holding SHIFT or if they are moved by using re-dragging onto a different part of the map from the CT.

So I assume that you have done one of the above.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Thank you for your help here. I was not aware that Fog of War cooperated with Line of Sight. I thought it was one or the other.

I do have the Fog of War set to PC on the GM side, and it is showing as PC on the Player side. (Thank you for mentioning the issue with moving the Tokens though. That explains why the Fog map has disappeared before on other maps.)

With this map that I have added Line of Sight to though, the Fog is not working properly at all. All the PCs can see is what they have in the Line of Sight.

I have uploaded a short video of the behaviour, and a screenshot of the Line of Sight setting I currently have on the DM side.

FOW can be toggled on individual tokens through the right-click menu. Right click on token -> Visibility -> Enable fog of war. (Note that there is currently a bug wherein the label in the menu always says "Enable," regardless of the state. This will be fixed in the next client update.)

Also don't confused the Global Mask with either LOS or FoW.
Global Mask is independent of LOS/FoW and can be used to limit what LOS/FoW shows or can be used all on it's own. Info on it here: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassia...%5D-Global-LOS
And don't miss out scrolling up that page for more LOS details.

Thank you very much, enabling through the context menu fixed it. Not sure how it got turned off, but it is working correctly now. Thank you again.
