Planning a Pathfinder 2nd ed game... looking for 5e migrants interested in trying pf2

    ****SORRY, THE GAME IS FULL****

Hello all! I am an experienced GM (decades of dnd and 1 year of pf2, very experienced with FGU) looking for a casual group to run the first (and possibly the 2nd) chapter of the Kingmaker with 2e ruleset. I’ve only recently started running PF2e, but I love it so far, and am happy to help dispel some of its undeserved reputation of its being too crunchy. So if you’re a 5e player interested in PF2e, or someone who is a big fan of the PC game by owlcat, this could be the perfect introduction for you.

My schedule is very chaotic and I won’t be able to run the game every week, though I anticipate 2 or 3 regular 4 hour sessions per month. The day of the week is tbd, depending on the group’s availability, although I favor running the game on wed or thurs evenings (EST/EDT time zone 7-11PM).

I’m a forever-DM and I’ve run dnd 3.5, 4e, PF, and 5e on and off since I was a teenager, though I’ve recently switched from 5e to PF2e. I’m an old-school gamer at heart and my GM style skews heavily towards worldbuilding, lore, roleplay, and character development; I love to reward players that bring in well developed and interesting characters and roleplay well with customized NPCs, quests, and content designed specifically around their character. But I also love tactical combat and I run a tight ship with the game’s rules.

I have an ultimate FGU license. Players new to PF2e are welcome, although I would prefer some familiarity with FGU, as I haven’t used it that much with the PF2 ruleset. I believe kingmaker is sanctioned for PFS credit as well, and I can register the games we play towards your PFS account.

I am looking to run the first game toward the end of the month or beginning of May.

If you’re interested please feel free to send a message. (Also, my discord user ID: 820432761936281613)
Game: Pathfinder 2e KINGMAKER CAMPAIGN (Chapter 1)
Day of Week: TBD, preferably wed or thurs
    Time of Day: 7-11PM EST
Frequency: about twice a month, varies
    GM License: Ultimate
Voicechat: Discord (I likely will record the games, and post on youtube.)
Character creation: L1, all “common” options for ancestry/background/feats/spells/starting gear per player core are allowed. Although the campaign material is based on 2019 CRB when it was written, your characters should be updated to 2024 player core rules. “uncommon” or rare options need to be discussed with GM. The campaign setting does have some additional campaign specific backgrounds, such as “sword saint,” etc that are available.

Are you running the 1st version of Pathfinder 2e, or the more recent revisioned one? I ask, because I bought & started to learn the PF 2e Player Core book while playing in one of the Starfinder 2e playtest adventures - it uses PF2PC for base rules. So I'd be possibly interested if you were running that version. I'm currently homebrewing a number of settings & adventures using 6 different TTRPGs, so I wouldn't really be up for learning yet another set of rules. Thurs & Fri are the only days of the week that currenly work for me.

Meant to include in my private message but also if you're putting it on youtube will a camera be needed as well or just microphone? As I don't have a working camera lol
Also I can't figure out how to message you on Discord with just your user ID

I am using the new 2023 player core rules, although, there will be some NPCs/monsters that will be casting "magic missle" instead of "force barrage" etc. And I can't seem to stop saying "flat-footed," instead of "off guard" because i've been saying flat footed for 20+years. no camera, just mic.

    I'm a 5E refugee. I've been playing PF1E, but have yet to try PF2.

Hi there. I like the term "refugee." It's perfectly describes how I and many of us feel. No worries... PF2e is an excellent place to find a new home. Unfortunately, my game is full for now.
