    Fantasy Grounds - Beta Release v4.5.0

    Please post any feedback on the beta Test version in this thread:

    Target Release Date: March 2024

    As always, we're a small company so we rely on our community to help sound out each new release. Thanks in advance to all those who pitch in.

    Accessing the Beta
    Only the Test mode slot contains this version. Test Mode can be accessed by selecting the Settings button from the Fantasy Grounds launch screen, changing the mode setting in the Settings dialog, and then selecting Update button to update the files to the test version. I will update this thread as I release new iterations of the test version.

    Beta Data
    When using the Test channel in Fantasy Grounds Settings, your data files for the Test version will be stored in a separate subfolder under the main Fantasy Grounds data folder called "channels\Test\". This will not impact any campaigns in the Live mode (until full release occurs).

    Key Things
    1) Always backup your campaign data before running the test version.
    2) If the GM is running on Test channel, then all of the players will also be running on Test channel.
    3) If you encounter an issues log them in the relevant testing thread - don't use the generic House of Healing, but use this forum.
    4) Do not use the Test build for your games if you and your group are not comfortable with testing pre-release software.
    5) Do not use the Test build for developer DLC for store or forge submission (as the data file formats may have changed, or will change more during the beta).

    Update Notes

    • Image camera and token views added. (3D view using 2D assets) Use toolbar to switch view modes.
    • Image control supports ping mode via toolbar.
    • Image control view shortcut keys added: WASD keys for panning; XC keys for zooming; Spacebar plus single mouse left button to pan/look.
    • Image control ping shortcut keys added: Hold spacebar plus double-click mouse left button.
    • Image token options added to radial menu: Send to Back, Bring to Front.
    • Image token hover shortcut keys added: B/F for token send to back/bring to front.
    • Image token hover/selection uses alpha channel. (transparency)
    • Image door line-of-sight blocker type supports line shape.
    • Image data control adjusted to work better with dark themes.
    • New database categories/groups will have initial text surrounded by parentheses.
    • Image painting layers being displayed outside of lighting and line-of-sight area. Fixed.
    • Image paint stamps not working consistently in some situations. Fixed.
    • Image map viewport on player client matched to GM client only on GM share, not every time opened.
    • When pressing Escape in image control, the quick pointer is incorrectly removed. Fixed.
    • Sound links would not play correctly when activated from reference manual pages. Fixed.
    • Editable module data was not updated for ruleset version correctly. Fixed.
    • [DEV] Interface - Added getAssetGridSize/getFontColor APIs.
    • [DEV] imagecontrol - setViewport would not work immediately after window/control created. Fixed.
    • [DEV] Module - onModuleUnload event adjusted to trigger after module data unloaded.

    Be sure to check out the new SRD module updates as well as new asset images you can use for players and monsters in 3D mode and 2D mode.

    Search Assets for
    FG Heroic (for characters)
    FG Fantasy (for monsters)

    • Image Camera View and Token View camera angles are remembered when switching image view modes.
    • Image Token View mode grid snap and movement blocking implemented.
    • Image lighting/vision not showing correctly when image restored. Fixed.

    • Image token widget offsets in Camera View mode not correct. Fixed.
    • Image pointer size not drawn to correct size in Token View mode. Fixed.
