My name is John and I have been a TTRPG player for over 37 years and a GM for 36. I will be running a Castles & Crusades one shot, The Mortality of Green. A wilderness chase and hostage rescue story. Castles & Crusades is a retro clone of D&D with slightly different rules.


A message from the druids of the forest to your adventurer’s guild signals a call for help in dealing with bandits poaching wildlife and harassing villagers. The bandits have been growing bolder. They are now kidnapping and ransoming both people and magical beasts such as unicorns. The druids and villagers are tired of paying the bandits demands. Your guild has been contracted to find the bandit hide out and who their boss is. Dealing with the bandit boss is a bonus job that you may undertake or you may report back to your bosses and let someone else do the job.

  • Optionally you may request the GM run your character in Fantasy Grounds. You watch & learn via screen share during the game.
  • Microsoft Teams for voice chat. Webcams are optional.
  • Exploration: Heavy
  • Role Play: Medium
  • Combat: Medium if investigating. High if taking optional rescue mission.
  • Session will be recorded and text transcribed for GM review.
