Ranged Touch critical range

ok.... Storm of blades. A player wants to use a scimitar as the material component. the to hits use Ranged Touch but the spell states that the critical range is equal to the weapon, so 18-20.

so can the Ranged touch crit range be changed? otherwise if the ranged touch roll is 18 or 19, is there a way to make the next damage roll a critical roll and just use a scimitar damage in the weapon area?

Right now you cannot touch it; a keen effect would just lead to 19-20 crit, but there is nothing else than the keen effect

Sounds like that one needs to combine a spell action with a weapon then. So, keep the spell without an attack and let the player attack via the weapon, I'd say

To force crits in any way: Either press shift while rolling for damage, or click the critical button in the modifier window (the modifier window is in the upper right, a +/- button)

Yep - Storm of Blades and Spiritual Weapon are great candidates for having spell attacks in the Weapons sections of the Actions page - especially since each is quite funky with how they do things.
