    Tech Revolution: Building Mechs

    Okay, figured it out - Mechs are located under NPCs. Which makes sense because that's where vehicles are, and building one seems easy enough. Kinda. But that's because of how Paizo designed it, which, in my honest opinion, is a bit of an overly convoluted mess.

    BUT, since as the GM I am stuck building this crap ANYways, I can easily implement my own concept of mech building.


    Mech Building Simplified: Alt/House Rules

    1. Use NPC creation rules/charts/grafts.
    2. Equip weapons/special equipment appropriate for type of mech/tier (CR)
    3. Set piloting check to 10 + tier (CR) so PCs can role piloting checks for certain actions but will otherwise let them control it like a character when piloting
    4. Steal Underpants
    5. ??
    6. PROFIT

    EDIT: Okay, better rules than the above

    1. Use the Custom Vehicle (With the Walker template) rules as the starting point for PC mechs
    2. Use the NPC creation rules for any "holes" that need filling or applying specialized grafts.

    Going to test this out.

    Okay, not too bad, reasonably quick.

    Tries to build Mech using Mech rules

    Paizo, I now hate you. (Not really but just no)

    EDIT: Oh, yeah, forgot about the custom vehicle system this book has. Between that and the NPC creation rules, building mechs is a lot quicker doing it that way than the "right" way.
