FG is not architected in the way a SQL database is. Plus the architecture decisions that drive this probably go back to its creation in 2004. So for now it is limited by what it is. You can always put a suggestion for a feature enhancement in the Wish List linked in Mr Z's signature and the devs will evaluate it along with other suggestions.
