Eldritch Knight and Booming Blade
So I was mucking about with character builds and I notice that Booming Blade and similar spells are not on the Eldritch Knight list, why not, It look legit to me. Is there a reason for this?

The spell lists are as published by WotC. SCAG makes no mention of Booming Blade being available to Eldritch Knight. But if you want it to be there's nothing stopping you from adding it.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

The rules for Eldritch Knight in the PHB under cantrips says any 2 cantrips of choice from the Wizards spells lists.
SCAG lists the cantrips including Booming Blade as on the Wizard spell list. So there fore available for use by an EK. Tasha's also lists these as Wizard spells. There is no a specialised EK spell list as published by WoTC that I am aware of.
The higher level spells are listed as Wizard, evocation or abjuration with the exception of levels 8, 14 and 20. So it seems to me that FG is by default, unnecessarily restricting EK spell selection.
And yes I am aware that I can manually override but to be honest I had not realised the restriction (I mostly DM not play) until the subject came up on ENWorld, it would be nice if FG conformed to the actual base rules.

Ah, I see what you are getting at now. I suppose the specific Eldritch Knight spell list could be removed. It was added when the PHB was produced and of course at that point there were no other books.
If you use the spell list and filter for Wizard then the Booming Blade spell will be available. If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Removed or updated, it is misleading as it stands. Would it be possible to filter spell by schools

You can in the spell list. It’s probably easier to choose spells for the Eldritch Knight from the spell list rather than from the Wizard since you have all sorts of weird rules for what you can choose at what level.
The Eldritch Knight spell list only exists in the PHB so it can’t be updated since I can’t add spells into the PHB from other books. I’m also reluctant to remove it as well since undoing it all is likely to problematic now.If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

ok, I have just looked at the overall spell lists and I can filter by name, level, ritual and class but I see no option to filter by School.
Now I realise that ruleset changes are not a priority but why cannot the metadata of the spells be expanded to include one outside the PHB in the EK list? I see no reason to get rid of the list but just find a way to make it more useful.

The spell list is created from files specific to the PHB. To include spells from other books would mean adding those spells to the PHB which clearly can’t be done. The spell lists aren’t part of the ruleset or the Unity client. Each list is created in each different book that contains them. What the client does do is list all the spells for the same class in whatever book they are in.
In hindsight creating the multitude of spell lists in the PHB was probably a mistake. It was useful when it was the only book containing spells but has become less so over time as new books have been added.
And my apologies I thought you could filter by spell school but as you say you can’t.If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

It is metadata in a database. The software should be able to handle it. If it is hand curated lists then that is a bad design that you should be moving away from as soon as possible, Since that is a waste of valuable employee time.
