HotDQ Mere of Dead Men battles

I have a group of players going through Hoard of the Dragon Queen and am planning ahead for the trek through Mere of Dead Men, where there may be random encounters with various swamp creatures. Part of the trip is through an area that is pretty much entirely under water, so any battles would have to be on the water. There are maps in the HotDQ module for the soggy land portion and for the midpoint campground but not for the water portion. Is it worth making a map and placing canoes on it so that the players and enemies can be visualized as the battle progresses? Or would it be better to just run it theater of the mind?

My inclination is to always have a map of some kind. You could use the theatre of the mind extension https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...sal)-Extension
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Thank you. I will download it and experiment with it.
