Player can't create character

Adding a new player to our FG Pathfinder game. Noticed when he connected, he couldn't create a new character. The little green ADD button is now gone from the characters window. How does a player add a new character now??? As DM, I could right click and create a character and then had him "claim" the character when he logged in. But, there must be a way for a player to create a character???

Posted in another thread, someone else found that the theme they were using, prevented their players from being able to find the add character button.
