You could add a layer to the map with something plain - like one of the background images. Resize it and set the opacity to something like 125 and then use the colour picker to change the colour for night/day etc.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Yeah but not looking for a work around, looking for functionality in FGU or an extension. Not dying here, just a wish

I would like to chime in here and say that if Mood lighting (or Desktop Lighting as the Wiki calls it) is not available in Unity yet then it should be noted in the Unity Wiki to avoid confusion.
