    Calendar and Story Templates

I spent some time looking but didn't see an answer for this.

Is there a way to access the current calendar date so that it appears on my custom daily encounter story template (similar to the story template in the user guide [The Day's Travels])?

Also is there a way to programmatically update the date to the next day when I generate a new daily encounter?

    Thanks!

    Not without an extension.

    Try this extension https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...ency-Extension

It won't dynamically add the date but it will do a lot more than that.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

UPDATE: This is core functionality now!

Use [Date:FORMAT] for your computer clocks date.

Use [FGDate:FORMAT] for the fantasy grounds calendar date.

If the FORMAT section includes any of the following, they will be replaced by a date value:
    dd
    ddd
    day
    mm
    mmm ([Date:FORMAT] only)
    month
    yy
    yyyy
    epoch
    oldschool ([Date:FORMAT] only)

This will be in the next ruleset release (probably next week); so not quite prime time yet.

I'll be making an updated video with new capabilities after the next code I send up to Smiteworks. Big new functionality coming with that one... So a new video will be good for the wiki.

...but it will include updated content for this date functionality too
