FGU - How to role for AiE attacks

    Hi all,

One of my fellow PCs is a mage and she hits like a damned cannon (glass). Is there a way to automatically role for damage for each enemy within range? We've tried creating a circular pointer and placing it over them, but it does nothing when she rolls at it. That is, when she cast Ice Knife she initially damaged one character and wanted to roll AoE damage against him and the two either side but, AFAIK, there is no way to do that automatically.

Also how do I, as a Paladin, activate and roll Divine Smite automatically? I've tried dragging it from features to the enemy token and chat, and also as a spell, but it does nothing at all and has to be rolled manually.

I realise that this is beta, I just want to make sure I haven't missed anything.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Apologies, I should have added that we are using 5e.

Hi Lord English welcome to FG.

Your wizard (or anyone) can target multiple enemies by just CTRL+Clicking on each one. Once they have been targetted then you can cast a spell at all of them. So if the spell requires a saving throw then they'll all make a saving throw. The Wizard can then roll the damage once and each target that failed their save will take damage (and if the spell specifies half on success then those that passed the save will take half damage).

For Divine Smite you'll need to create an effect in the actions tab and then place the effect on the character before rolling for damage.

I think DiabloBob's DM Tools may do what you're after as well?

I don't think it does. It seems from the vague description that it allows players to put tokens on the map.

I think it seems to address the first request in that it allows you to drop a token of the correct size that you've linked to your AoE spell and automatically target all those under the token. It also does other nifty things like token stacking etc. Anywho, the video on the DMsGuild page (I hope it's ok to link to this?) goes into detail about it's functionality, which is pretty impressive:

    I hope this helps.

Thank you both for your ideas, we'll test them all out shortly.
