LOS & Out of the Abyss

Are the maps in Out of the Abyss not coded for LOS? When I turn on LOS on any OotA map, the map goes dark, as expected. As soon as I add a PC to the map, the entire map is revealed. When I do this for Lost Mines of Phandelver, LOS works as expected.

(I am using FGU Ultimate, I purchased both LMoP and OotA)

No, Out of the Abyss hasn't been done yet. Someone did step forward and volunteered to do the LoS but I haven't heard from them in a while, so I'm not sure if they will complete it ot not.

Any modules with LOS will have an icon on their store page.

No. It's being done s part of a community crowd sourcing project. You can contribute if you would like.
