Issues with local character creation (skills)

    Hi,

Just started out playing call of cthulhu and fantasy grounds.
Running into an issue regarding character creation and any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I've created an investigator and gave him his basic characteristics. So far so good.
I've then given him the occupation of accountant and locked the occupation page just as the guide told me to.
It then tells me to start spending my occupation and personal skill points on skills.

But when I open the skill page it is completely empty.

I know that there should be an entire list separated in two rows. But there's nothing.
I have both the 7E ruleset module and the CoC 7e Reference module loaded.

I really do not know what I'm doing wrong here.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome Gluttoniser

Did you drag the occupation in from the occupation list?
When you do that it should pop up and you then select which attributes you want to use to calculate your points (accountant always uses EDU so this step is moot for that occupation).
You will also need to select your two additional occupation skills.
Then lock the occupation and close it.
Then when you switch to the Skills tab all the skills should be present.

If that is not working then it seems that something isnt working on your end.
You may need to delete the \rulesets\CoreRPG.pak and the \vault\CHAFGCOCCOC7ERS.dat files and rerun the updater.

You are also using the drag and drop occupations right?

    Hi,

I am using the drag and drop occupations.

When I try to add the additional skills as you mentioned I get a blank box.

I've noticed that when I create a new campaign and try to create a character from there that the skill list does load.
It also loads just fine when I try to create a local character through the 6th edition ruleset.

Its just 7e that is not working for me.

I have deleted both the \rulesets\CoreRPG.pak and the \vault\CHAFGCOCCOC7ERS.dat files and rerun the updater.
Sadly this did not resolve the issue.

Yep. Unfortunately Manage Characters doesn't work correctly with CoC 7e.

    That's a real bummer

Well thank you for helping out anyway, let's consider this one solved then.

There is almost no difference between creating in a campaign and in Character Management. Character Management has been dropped in Unity also. Once you create the character you can export it individually or you can export multiple characters into a module.

The two main advantages in Manage Characters are:
    1) Being able to access your PC from a previous session.
    2) Having a PC ready for immediate upload when you join a game.

With Manage Characters not working correctly for CoC 7e, you can still use the above two pieces of functionality, but need to export the PC to XML then load the XML into a campaign (for #1 and to allow editing of the PC) or import PC XML exported from a campaign (#2).
