Version 2.0 has been released with support for life transferring abilities.
This update adds a new "transfer" damage type which deals the resulting damage to the attacker (?!) and heals the target for the same amount. Great for the Life Transference spell as well as MCDM's Illrigger.
Also added are effects for sharing damage or healing, such as for the Warding Bond spell.

I don't have the latest book, so I'm not sure what the final version of the trait is. For the UA version, Constitutional Amendments will help with the option to regain hitpoints upon a successful bite by having a Damage entry of: 1d4+CON piercing, steal.

That's great, I like that 'sacrifice/transfer' dmg type. Is there a way to express that you would take x dmg (as attacker) and heal 2x or is it hardcoded to x ?
If it is, how hard would it be to add a multiplier to x ?

Life Transference heals 2x, and works with "4d6 necrotic, transfer, [2]". Basically, if a number inside brackets follows "steal", "stealtemp", or "transfer" it'll be used as the multiplier. It can also be a decimal value, so "hsteal" is identical to "steal, [0.5]".

Might be user error but I'm getting some unexpected behavior with SHAREDMG. I'm seeing the target of the damage always takes full damage and the link takes the damage * the modifier.
    with damage of 6
Example SHAREDMG: .5 , target takes 6 and the link takes 3
SHAREDMG: 2, target takes 6, link takes 12

Would you mind explaining what you expected the behavior to be so I can make a note for future updates as well as try to clarify the description a bit? What you've described is the currently intended behavior.

Sorry, I was expecting the sum total of the damage to remain the same but shared among creatures. So If I used SHAREDMG: .5 and had it on two creatures they would both take 1/2 of the damage or SHAREDMG .25 and 4 creatures they all would take 1/4 of the damage.
