Can you give a bone for $140.00 something everyone want to take your gold these days. Oh well guess I'll just wait till next Stim Check.

That is not strictly true. You get the SRD content for some systems, e.g. D&D 5e, which is certainly a start. As for the rest, the content is not SmiteWorks' to give away. If you wanted a "free" copy of the D&D PHB for example I guess that SmiteWorks would have to pay WOTC out of the license money you have paid them. If they could afford to do that it would probably simpler for them to just reduce the cost of the Fantasy Grounds License.

If you already own books you can use the built in rulesets to play many TTRPGS for no added cost. Just have to build the characters, NPC's and adventures yourself. Certainly more time consuming, but I imagine that's what many people do. As for your request for free books... Wizards of the Coast is giving away a bunch of free adventures these days (all in PDF form, so once again, some work required on your part to use in FG). The product information page shows what you get with each type of license.
The *only* difference between a Standard License and an Ultimate is that an Ultimate license allows players without a license to join your game. If you don't want this functionality then you can request a refund and buy a standard license. But if you're going to GM that will mean that each player joining your game will also need at least a Standard license.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!

What system are you playing?
Pathfinder 1e has a TON of community modules that are all you really need if you're budget-constrained.Last edited by bmos; May 28th, 2020 at 11:01.
