The Default Wild Card icon.....

Is it me, or is it very hard to see whether an NPC is a Wildcard or an Extra? The same icon is used. One is lighter grey, but the other a bit darker toward black. Is it possible to change these icons? I know some themes change these, and they are much more distinct. But the base rules icons are pretty much indistinguishable from each other at a glance.

Sure, just replace them with a quick extension. The two icons you're looking for are wildcard and nowildcard as seen in /graphics/graphics_icons.xml.

I increased the fonts and tab sizes, and decreased the sidebar and changed the Wildcard, extra and GM icons so that I could scale my ui to 70 and still see the stuff, here is a pic of it:
