Character Import does not Completely work (D&D 5E) (originating campaign has modules)

Operating Systems: both Player and GM running Windows 10
    English Language.
    Rules Set: D&D 5E
    Newly Created Campaigns

Since my GM does not own several modules we want to use in his new campaign for D&D 5E, and I do, and we are currently unable to access/make available my modules in his campaign, I created characters in my own campaign using modules I own and he does not. Specifically, I used the D&D 5E modules Xanthar's Guide to Everything and Volo's Guide to Monsters. After basic character creation using these modules in my campaign (where I hosted the campaign), I exported the character via the PC menu, via the edit list button. I then signed into his campaign and imported the character I exported from my campaign into his campaign via the import option in the PC menu. When the character was imported, it was completely blank once the character was selected. The character name was visible on the Character selection screen, but everything on the character sheet, was completely blank or reset to the basic 10s in all the stats.

We tried to import it several times with the same results. Will continue to try using characters created from modules available in both campaigns, i.e D&D Players handbook.

    Additional steps to reproduce etc:

    1) created a second D&D 5E campaign on my computer, and with no modules loaded, I tried to import the character and got the following error message:
[3/19/2020 11:38:17 PM] Launcher scene starting.
[3/19/2020 11:38:53 PM] Starting cloud server mode. [twseifert]
    [3/19/2020 11:38:56 PM] Game server started. [68.183.117.123:61878]
[3/19/2020 11:38:56 PM] Launcher scene exiting.
[3/19/2020 11:38:57 PM] Tabletop scene starting.
[3/19/2020 11:39:53 PM] [<color="red">ERROR</color>] Script execution error: [string "campaign/scripts/charselect_import_entry.lu..."]:23: activate: Invalid parameter 1
However, once I returned to the Character Selection screen on the PC menu, the character was there, with all data intact.

    2) When I loaded the same modules I used to create the character, I got the same error message above when trying to import the character into my new campaign myself, but the character data is all present on the character sheet.

    I reproduce this.

    1. Open a 5e campaign
    2. Load the PHB and Volo's Guide
    3. Create a 1st level protector aasimar acolyte barbarian, just default stats and stuff, pick the first options whenever prompted for a choice.
    4. Close FGU
    5. Reopen FGU and open a different 5e campaign, ensure no books are loaded. Specifically, the PHB and Volo's are not loaded (I didn't try with them loaded, so I don't know if this is essential, but I'm trying to retrace OP's steps)
    6. Go to the character list, and click the import button.
    7. As expected, I see the character from my other campaign available for import even without using an XML file.
    8. Click the green + button to import the character.
    9. See the error below.
    10. Exit the error console
    11. Leave import mode
    12. See that the character has seemingly been imported successfully (though I haven't validated all the abilities and stuff)

    The error console contains:

    Code:
[3/20/2020 10:09:14 PM] Launcher scene starting.
    [3/20/2020 10:09:19 PM] Starting private server mode. [(172.23.176.1:1802) (fe80::e892:4fb7:6037:7f12:1802)]
    [3/20/2020 10:09:19 PM] Game server started. [172.23.176.1:1802]
[3/20/2020 10:09:19 PM] Launcher scene exiting.
[3/20/2020 10:09:19 PM] Tabletop scene starting.
[3/20/2020 10:10:28 PM] [<color="red">ERROR</color>] Script execution error: [string "campaign/scripts/charselect_import_entry.lu..."]:23: activate: Invalid parameter 1
I'm not sure what the expected behavior here is, if we should or should not be able to import this character. An error followed by a successful import does feel like a bug, though.

The Expected behavior should be that everything on the character sheet is there in the new campaign that the character was imported into. Instead what is happening is that the character is available in the, but the character sheet is completely blank, just like a character sheet is when you create a new character in the campaign.

I have further discovered that it happens (imports a completely blank character sheet) regards of which modules are open in both the exporting campaign and the importing campaign. In short, no matter what you do, the import feature (at least in the 5E rule set) does not works as intended/expected.

I suspect the devs will need a copy of the exported FGC character that does not import correctly. They will also need to know the steps needed to reproduce the issue, so if that summary could be included in the reply with the character xml, it would help. Plus, also list any extensions used in the FGC campaign, as one of those could be responsible too.

    No extensions were loaded.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) open Campaign A in FGU
    2) create PC using the option in the PC Menu
    3) export the PC you just created through the PC Menu.
    4) exit Campaign A, and exit FGU
    5) open Campaign B in FGU
    6) open PC Menu
    7) click the import Character Option in the PC menu
    8) select the character you exported from Campaign A
    9) open this character from the PC menu
    10) character sheet is now blank just like you are creating a new character in Campaign B, all information you added to the Character Sheet during creation in Campaign A is now gone and reset to the initial 'blank' character sheet

Also experiencing this issue, but the PC sheet is only missing it's portrait. Stats and everything else are good. The portrait was a manually added *.jpg file I added to the Portrait folder. Wonder if that is the reason?

Having a similar issue importing characters into 5E gaming sessions. When Importing a local character into a new or different campaign, the character imports properly, but without the portrait. If another player tries to import one of their characters into the campaign, the character imports as a new blank character sheet, but with the portrait. If the player emails the character XML to the GM, the character can then be imported, but without the portrait.
