Do Macs load faster?

Just an observation; I thought my oldish imac was faster and more stable with FGU than my newish Windows Dell because I have fewer modules/extensions loaded.

But i just read on the syrinscape forum, someone making a similar observations on their two systems

Is this just a coincidence? Genuinely curious

One or two people have posted in another thread some numbers and nothing is conclusive. There are simply too many variables; RAM (amount and speed), CPU (speed and architecture), anti-virus programs, disk speed, how fragmented the disk is, etc.
