Unexpected characters in alias

I opened up FG this morning and noticed that my host alias was displaying some unexpected characters:

Anyone know where these are stored and how they might be getting corrupted?

P.S. Not sure if this just happened either. I only just noticed it this morning, so it may have been this way for days or weeks as far as I know...

Found and fixed the registry key where that is stored. I'm still curious how/what might have corrupted it like that?

Not sure without being able to recreate and investigate. Possibly a network error changed the text?
