    SFS 1-39: The Herald's War SAT February 22nd @ 2 PM UTC

Tier 7-10, the subtier will depend on the players. Make sure to decide on a reasonable subtier.

Please schedule around 5 hours for the game.

[The rescheduled SUN tier 1-4 game is still on but currently full.]

    About the scenario:

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 7-10.

Having claimed the Scoured Stars system at their own, the dreaded and xenophobic jinsuls have declared a war of hostile reclamation against the other surviving species that fled the Scoured Stars long ago.

Led by First Seekers Jadnura and Luwazi Elsebo, the Starfinder Society rallies its fleet in defense of the jinsuls' primary target: the people of the Kreiholm Freehold. As part of the initial counterattack, the PCs find themselves in a key position to strike at the jinsuls' leader, change the course of the war, and set the stage for the final climactic showdown with the jinsuls.

Content in The Herald's War follows up on the events of Starfinder Society #1-99: The Scoured Stars Invasion, though playing the previous scenario is not required. Content in this scenario also contributes to the ongoing goals of the Second Seekers (Jadnura) faction, the Second Seeker (Luwazi Elsebo) faction, and to the ongoing year of the Scoured Stars storyline.

    Technical details:

We will use Fantasy Grounds (I have an Ultimate license) and Teamspeak.

    Steps before the game:

Make sure to both apply here as well as in the game calendar, stating which character you'd like to play.

If you apply, make sure you send me your previous chronicle sheet of the character you want to apply this chronicle to (if you already have any chronicle sheet) either here or on Discord (Fantasy Grounds channel). If it is your first SFS game, I'll at least need your Paizo Organized Play # and your faction.

If you haven't already, also make sure to either build the character on FG yourself (and send it to me) or log in early enough so you can do so on game day.

Make sure you have updated Fantasy Grounds.

FG alias and Teamspeak server can be found under GM announcements in the game calendar.

    Other notes:

Also make sure to track your purchases on the Inventory Tracking Sheet.

Be sure to apply on time (if you can make it) as the last games were rather full.

In your own interest, make sure the party is somewhat balanced level-wise.

    Some boilerplate clarifications:

Please apply on the FG forums on both the game calendar as well as in the game thread (if multiple household members are playing, one person per household is sufficient). First, it's easier to tell how many spots are already filled that way. Second, the other players (as well as the GM) know what level and class to expect from your character (if you don't know yet, simply state TBD). Third, you'll get notified about any updates if you post in the game thread (at least about the first one). Fourth, it allows the GM to determine who applied first should it become relevant. Some exceptions might apply.

Also, please be sure to check the thread for new messages occasionally. You don't have to check each and every day or every few hours but please make sure to reply to any posts that do concern you in time. Should you remain unresponsive, I'll give the spot to a player that applied after you (as I won't know whether you are still interested in participating or not). Exceptions might apply, e.g. if you state beforehand that you won't be able to respond due to traveling.

If you apply but don't show up or drop out during the game without notice, in future games I might also give preference to other players who have a better track record of showing up. I am aware though that life and technical problems can always happen, so don't worry if you have a valid reason though.

These rules are not in place to prevent players from playing but in fact to enable players willing to play to actually do so. It's frustrating if I have to turn down players if it turns out they would in fact have been able to play.

If anyone needs a pregen prepped, let me know.

FYI: Most likely #2-17: Cost of Living (3-6) on SAT February 29th around 6.30 PM UTC next (assuming it will be released in time). Not sure yet whether I can run anything the week after.

The server will be up in around 30 minutes.

As mentioned in the first post, be aware this scenario can easily take 5 hours.

I have not yet quite figured out my stance on take 10: "[U]nder pressure or during times of great stress", "a situation is too hectic or that you are distracted" and "requires some sort of crucial effect as a key part of the adventure’s story" are all really vague and leave a lot to the GM's discretion (the non-FAQ from PF1 is also pointing towards broad GM discretion). To the best of my knowledge, there are no specific guidelines for SFS. What I can say however is that I'm hesitant to allow take 10 on checks that contribute to a success condition, as that seems likely to trigger the "crucial effect part".

Very sorry - I have a sudden conflict and cannot make today's game...but the table is still OK. Actually - just saw the other comments above, and I'm really sorry, because I looked at the game yesterday and it looks like I missed it entirely because of the timezone thing. I wasn't logged in and it said 2PM. Apologies.

    Chronicle drafts sent.

We've now run every SFS season 1 scenario (except the 1-99 special) now by the way.

There might be a chance for 1-99 in the near future. My local lodge is building up to that part of the storyline, and we'll probably not fill enough tables locally, so would add online tables to meet the minumum. This will most likely happen beginning of June, but the date hasn't been fully set yet. I'll bring this up again as soon as we are set on a date.
