    Tried a few things.
    Turned of Viruschecker - can host, cant join with localhost
    Installed on my laptop same problem can host on laptop cant join localhost
    Turned of my network so running purely on laptop, can host cant join localhost
    I had it installed on my E drive so
    uninstalled and reinstalled in default directory C..... can host no join.
    Changed port, can host no join

    Your screenshots show that you have v4.0.0 FREE - so you haven't entered a valid FG Unity license key and done an update. It looks like the ability to connect as localhost currently doesn't work without a valid FGU license - at least that's the case in my testing.

    Ok, when I enter my FGII Ultimate key it says its invalid and that it will sync my purchases on next update, I had assumed that it did that as part of the update after i entered my login details.

    Ok so found thread about claiming FGU license etc will go do all that first and then if an issue report back

    Sorry to all, but that was it. I was using FGC key. I found june claim email and got the FGU key and it accepted it. Hosted a 5e game and joined successfully with localhost.

    Thank you Trenloe for noticing key issue.

    Now I can check what players actually see and compare to gm.

    Well spotted Trenloe; I completely missed that and went over every inch of those screenshots.
