    Table Functions..

OK.. so I had this idea for an extension/feature and I'm wondering if someone has already done it. I did a forum search and didn't come up with anything. So here's the idea:

I'd like to be able to trigger a function from a table. Create an effect or roll some dice or whatever based on the result of the table roll.
I'm thinking that I add a separate 'new' special column that has some meat behind it, similar to the spell functions for character sheets. If the proper output were created, it could then be dragged from the chat and dropped on the combat tracker... I'm not sure that I would have it automatically target anything.

    So... 2 questions..
A: Has anyone already done something like this?
B: Any thoughts on functionality that I haven't thought of?

An example of where this would be cool is in my Rod of Wonder table.
Basically, for those of you unfamiliar with a Rod of Wonder... the rod spits out a random result every time it is used.. sometimes its a lightning bolt.. sometime it does an enlarge person.. sometimes it spits out butterflies.. and the list goes on and on...
Another example might be a critical hit table where the crits have various effects on the source or target. (increases or decrease to attack, damage, or defense for the next attack/round or something)

Closest thing I can think of is Rob Twohy's effects and items coding. If I understand your goal, they might be a step short of what you want, but it would get you really close. (DMsguild has all his stuff)

https://www.dmsguild.com/ Its like drivethru RPG (actually I think it may be same company), except you are allowed to use WoTC IP within the provided guidelines. Tons of content for tabletop and VTT.

Hey, I made an extension that does something very similar. It can output a usable effect to chat from a table roll (or from any source that outputs text to chat). You should check it out if you're still interested in this functionality.
