I'd love to see a Shadowrun 5th Ed MoreCore set up.

spell out exactly how the mechanics work and we can see what we can do...
i do not have the bandwidth to learn systems Im never going to run so i can build dice mechanics for them...

A pool of 6 siders gets rolled (number of dice in the pool is the character's skill + an attribute +/- modifiers). 5s and 6s = success, 1s = glitch (bad). If a 6 is rolled, an exploding die is rolled and checked for success.

The number of successes is counted, as are the number of glitches. The total number of successes is checked to see if they are above a limit number and if above that, the excess is discarded.

That's pretty much the mechanics of the dice rolling parts.

4th Ed is basically the same, but without the Limit check part.

    does successes = success-glitches?
or are they used as story - you succeed but...

how is the limit determined? and why do you limit success?
    do you also limit glitches?

how do you report the outcome of the roll?
    is there a target number?

Successes are separate from glitches. They are for telling if something bad (more than half of the die pool comes up 1's) or something really bad happens (more than half are 1s and not a single success). Glitches are not limited.

Limits come from two places, there are default limits based on attributes (Mental for things brain-based, Physical for strength or agility based, Social for social interactions), or from equipment (higher equality stuff, higher limits, low quality, low limits).

The outcome of the roll depends on the difficulty of the task (what you're trying to do) Ex: an easy task (Driving a car down the street) needs 1 success, An extream task (driving a semi-truck down a winding mountain road in an ice storm, being shot at by gunships) need 8 - 10 successes. There are also opposed tasks (a PC vs an NPC) where both roll their dice pools and then subtract the one's successes from the others. Winner is the one who has a net success.

BTW: thanks for taking a look at this for us.

Ill play with some scripts over the next couple of days.

So it should be something like:

    /srun4 (attribute+equipment+modifiers)d6x(limit)

6s explode and add +1 to successes
    5s add +1 to successes
    1s add + 1 to glitches

    Successes can never exceed Limit

    Report Successes and Glitches

    Now...
    How to build...
Do you ever have more than 1 attribute involved?
Can you ever use more than 1 item of equipment?
Can you get more than one modifier?

    How to report?
Ulysses (4 Physical, 3 Driving, 3 High Tech Car, 1 Navigator, -3 Dark and Dangerous)
    7 Successes, 2 Glitches
    14, 13, 9, 8, 5, 2, 1, 1
