For Port Forwarding -
Is there an option to use Other/Custom and not FTP?
Your tracert shows two routers - do you have a router and a modem? Have you port forwarded the modem to the router and the router to the PC?
What is screenshot 3? That looks completely wrong. Where is this created?
You have posted the external IP as shown by FG but not by your Router, please provide both
Please close fantasy grounds
Please delete the Fantasy Grounds firewall rules in Windows Firewall
Launch FG and then ALLOW ALL when windows prompts
Please post a screenshot of the windows firewall rules list including FantasyGrounds
Edit: Why is Hamachi becoming unfeasible?

2. Yes, a router and a modem, hadn't really considered that, I will try and do that if I can figure it out
3. I believe I saw it on a How-to (I've been at it a while following where google searches lead me), in Windows defender> Connection Security Rules> Create a New Rule> protocols and ports
4. It never occurred to me they weren't the same thing
5. Done
6. Deleting all rules.
7. Allowing all on next open
8.
Thank you for being patient with me, this is a bit outside of my wheel house and I've been trying to cobble together some sense of how to do all of this. I feel like now that I know to go modem to router to PC with the Port Forwarding I have something else to try, but if you see any obvious issues here please let me know.
And as for Hamachi, it had worked for a play group I had years ago, but it required considerable troubleshooting with regularity. I'm trying to get a moderate size group of newcomers to fantasy grounds in the play (tabletop veterans), many far less tech savvy than I. I'm not sure I can explain to 5 different people the processes involved with Hamachi and troubleshoot when they had problems (which was a fairly regular occurrence in our old group) and it's not going to be a good time if I have to be the tech guy. That and I can already feel the tensing that at least one guy when I mention that we're going to be "port tunneling". It would be much easier on everyone's nerves and feelings if I can just quarterback for them and ask as little of them as possible. Social Distancing has made strange bedfellows.
Edit: And for clarity, I am now trying port forward from the modem to my router, then to my PC? So in those instances, the internal IP is the IP of the device I'm setting up the forwarding on, and the external ip is the one I'm forwarding it to?Last edited by Lance Dieselman; April 13th, 2020 at 03:55.

Your router has WAN and LAN interfaces - 192.168.0.something (maybe 7) and 192.168.1.1
Your Modem has WAN and LAN interfaces - maybe 76.179.79.99 (but you need to confirm) and 192.168.0.1
Your PC only has a LAN interface - 192.168.1.7
The modem is first
You need to port forward TCP1802 from the modem to the routers WAN interface
then you move to the router
and port forward TCP1802 from the router to the PC LAN interface
I have personally found Hamachi to be very reliable.

This is the modem's port forwarding menu. For External IP, I entered the WAN IP4v address of . For Local IP, I added the Router's LAN IP of
Assuming this is correct, I would then go into my router's settings and enter in the LAN for my PLast edited by Lance Dieselman; April 13th, 2020 at 03:56.

generally do not specifiy the external IP on your port forward
you cant port forward to something that isnt on the same network
the inside/LAN port of the router is not on the same network as teh modem - only its WAN interface/address is on the LAN of the modem
internet --- WAN ip [modem] LAN ip ------ WAN ip [router] LAN ip ----- LAN ip [PC]
modem port forwards tcp 1802 to 192.168.0.something (find the WAN ip of the router)
router port forwards tcp 1802 to 192.168.1.7 (if that is the ip of the PC)

Assuming I've done that and it still isn't working, is there another thing to check? What I have so far is:
Modem Port Forwarding.jpg. This is based upon the idea that my router has a WAN ip of 192.168.0.14, which I found on this screenRouter Info.jpg
The port forwarding menu on the router seems much more straightforward, and I am fairly certain my PC's LAN IP is 192.168.1.7 from every method I've used to check it from this point. I have restarted the router, the modem and fantasy ground at this point and am still receiving failure messages from the fantasy grounds client as well as canyouseeme (running it with the fantasy grounds client open).

Hi Lance
It seems you are much closer now. Can you please also post the output of
ipconfig
for me?

Sure thing, current ipconfig.jpg
Edit: Notice the LAN ip for the desktop is different, I don't believe I've set it as static yet. If I'm able to get this working even 1 time I'll get into setting a static ip address. I have changed the router-to-pc connection to reflect the new altered ip address, still with no luckLast edited by Lance Dieselman; April 13th, 2020 at 11:52.

Dammed, I am answering everything I can and I couldn't locate my IP, which I noted in my first post on this thread. I understand this is a pain, but please note I am not annoyed or anything I am simply confused cause I am not tech-savvy. Anyway, the following details you have requested for:
IP details Screenshot: FG7IP.jpg
Window Defenders Screenshot: FG8WindowDefenders.jpg
The final result screenshot: FG9NoPrompt.jpg
I am going answer again the question and will be trying with screenshots. However, due to the 5 limit photo please bear with me. I am working with you, Dammed. I may be wrong in some areas, cause I am using google given I never done this before and without some kind of clue where to look, it's hard to give the correct information.
==
1. Your LAN IP Address
67.187.171.123 base on what is my ip.com
2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router
FG IP: FG Details.jpg
Router: 10.0.01
3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both) Wireless
4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private. It's set to private
5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions The screenshot above under window defenders has this.
6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)
command prompt 2.jpg
7. Confirmation as to what you have setup in your Router if changes have been made
Comfirming.

I went to update the program to see if that may help it, but I am not able to update the program.Last edited by DJZuki; April 13th, 2020 at 21:18.
