I have a bit of an odd network setup and I can't get the port forwarding to work. I have an Arris gateway going into an Ooma going into a Linksys Router. I forwarded the port on the Linksys but I can't get it to work on the Arris. I have played around with it and it seems to accept IPs of the form 192.168.0.* but my router does not have an IP in that form. Below are the details:
My IP: 192.168.1.102
Linksys Router IP as shown when loging into it: 172.27.35.32
The IP when seen from outside: 192.168.1.1
I am using wireless
I set my network adapter to private before trying to port forward
I have no 3rd party antivirus program. I let 1802 into the default windows firewall.
tracert 8.8.8.8
1 4 ms <1 ms <1 ms Evil-Dead [192.168.1.1]
2 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 172.27.35.1
3 13 ms 7 ms 8 ms 192.168.0.1
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 22 ms 26 ms 22 ms 173-219-238-33.suddenlink.net [173.219.238.33]
6 39 ms 33 ms 39 ms 173-219-252-220.suddenlink.net [173.219.252.220]
7 28 ms 38 ms 37 ms 173-219-218-150.suddenlink.net [173.219.218.150]
8 36 ms 29 ms 35 ms 66-76-229-162.suddenlink.net [66.76.229.162]
9 38 ms 33 ms 53 ms 108.170.240.97
10 29 ms 29 ms 41 ms 216.239.54.125
11 31 ms 36 ms 30 ms dns.google [8.8.8.8]
I let 1802 through the Linksys router to my PC but I can't enter the Linksys's IP into the Arris' website for whatever reason. I have tried both of the IPs for the router but it just says "Invalid IP Address" When I do. I don't know if this is because I am doing it wrong or what. Does anyone have any insight?
As an extra piece of information, the 4th item in the tracert times out every time. I don't know if that is relevant information or not.Last edited by Powerracer251; March 23rd, 2020 at 04:08.

welcome Powerracer251
whats an Ooma?
Port forward the outside device to the outside interface of the next device
Port forward the middle device to the outside interface of the inside device
Port forward the inside device to the PC
an example
Arris: outside 173.219.28.245, inside 192.168.0.1
Ooma: outside 192.168.0.2, inside 172.27.35.1
Arris: outside 172.27.35.4, inside 192.168.1.1
PC: 192.168.1.102
You forward TCP 1802 on the Arris to the Ooma (192.168.0.2 TCP 1802)
You forward TCP 1802 on the Ooma to the Linksys (172.27.35.4 TCP 1802)
You forward TCP 1802 on the Linksys to the PC (192.168.1.102 TCP 1802)
The external IPs are not correct in my info above
Also - why so complicated?
You are just making things hard...!
Also - please answers to every question. Not just the ones you want to.

Hi Berger
See hop #2 100.64.64.1
That is where your ISP has implemented something called CGNAT or Carrier Grade NAT and they have aggregated your IPv4 addressing with several others.
In some cases your router might tell you that you have access toa certain number of ports you can use but in most cases you have no port forwarding capability under this setup.
Contact your ISP and check if they can change your setup otherwise look at the Port Forwarding Alternatives thread.

I have tried the STEAM version first and purchased the PHB and the mad mage dungeon through STEAM. The book modules loaded and can enter the program. Cannot connect to anyone.
Spoke with Doug via e-mail. He sent me the FGU version. Ran the FGU version, cannot get the updater to function at 100% keep getting the following error in log file:
i: C:\Users\newuser\AppData\Roaming\SmiteWorks\Fantas y Grounds\vault\5E-examples.dat

In addition this version does not recognize my purchases made even though Doug tried to gift me the 2 purchases I made and that came up with an error message when I tried to download from the store. But the good news is I was able to connect to the lobby and actually spoke to a person via chat in their game lobby. So if I can get the updater to work at 100% and get my purchases downloaded were good to go.

Hey shezingzh
You have several things going on here.
Firstly your tracert looks like Port Forwarding will not work - BUT
Can you confirm the public IP address on your ROUTER? If its the same as what FG reports?
As to the timeout - something is blocking the traffic to/from the SmiteWorks server.
If you have access to a VPN try connecting to that first to run the updates.

Hi,
Bought FG so me and my friends could cope with the COVID isolation, however I keep getting failure on connection test. I have done the connection guide.
1. LAN IP: 192.168.0.3
2. WAN IP by Router: 100.65.XXX.XXX (FG externao IP: 189.6.XXX.XXX)
3. Wireless
4. Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre set to Private
5. Running Norton Security and exception was added (also teste with Norton Secutirty turned off)
6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)
