Im looking to confirm that the routers WAN IPv4 address is the 24.something address that FG sees.
Most port checkers like canyouseeme.org only check TCP. They wont check UDP.
Make sure you have the UDP rule in place, fire up FGU and choose LAN connection and see if you can get someone to connect to the 24 IP.
I cant at this time - at work - but if your players arent online you could pop into the FG discord and someone there will test it with you.

Thank you. It seems the problem was the UDP setting.
Sheesh, I'm such a noob. I appreciate your help, though.

Spent a fair while trying, after testing with a player as we as both very keen on convincing the group to transfer our games to Fantasy Grounds (Classic) and having no success. The connection test started out not finishing at all (waited 10+ minutes more than once) and then moved on to failing as I started going through the steps.

I'm not hugely adept with IT and such, so I hope you can help me out as I've reached the end of my patience with trying on my own over the last 5 or so hours.

    1. Your LAN IP Address: 192.168.8.10 (it was a dynamic previously, but I managed to change that to this static, recognised by the Port Forward tool, my router webpage and Fantasy Grounds). I also changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8/secondary 8.8.4.4 in the process as it was show as identical to the default gateway.

    2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router: 62.44.XXX.XX (don't know if that's all, but I x'd out the remaining, if they were needed, sorry)

    3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both): Wired (the router provides wireless, but it's unstable and currently the wireless receiver on the computer is turned off manually)

    4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private: "Privat" would be "Private", if my computer was set to English private.png

    5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions: Windows Defender Firewall exceptions.png (once again, sorry it's not in English, hope it still confirms the necessary bits)

    6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to):
    Tracing route to dns.google [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    14 39 ms 38 ms 47 ms dns.google [8.8.8.8]

    Trace complete.

    7. Confirmation as to what you have setup in your Router if changes have been made: I also set up a router fort forward/virtual server router port forward.png

I'd love to know if there's any chance this will work out as my group is up for using Fantasy Grounds, but they want confirmation that it works before more than the one player tries it out.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    7. Confirmations:
Port forwarding enabled to 1802 via ISP (Comcast / Xfinity) web page
    Disabled Comcast Xfinity Advanced Security
Allowed application level access to Fantasy Grounds via Windows Defender Firewall
Created inbound rule port 1802 with TCP on Windows Defender Firewall

Additional Info: Don't know if this helps, but my Fantasy Grounds connection test was successful. I was also able to connect a second session from the same laptop via localhost, but I would expect that to be the case.

If your test is successful what is the issue that you are having?

Players cannot connect to me remotely when I host a game. I have no reason to believe they are doing it incorrectly. I have another friend to try and test. He’s a networking pro, so maybe he can find something on the other end. All I know is that I can’t get anyone connected to either my Classic Ultimate or Unity Ultimate right now. Does anything look wrong there? Appreciate the help.

Nothing looks wrong in the provided info.

    1. You need TCP 1802 for FGC
    2. You need UDP 1802 for FGU
    3. Dont have both FGC and FGU running at the same time - for some reason at least on my system I cannot host when I have both running
    4. Check for any TCP Flood or UDP flood settings in your computers firewall settings and turn them off
    5. Do you even see the players trying to connect?

  10. #400
Well, bother. Still no success, not on the test, not with a player trying to connect. canyouseeme.org reports the connection timing out on not only port 1802, but 80 too. What would be the options at this point, if everything else appears good?
