If when you view the WAN IP on the router 192.168.1.1 it shows as 85.153 then you should be able to port forward.
You cannot set your WAN ip to be static - only your ISP can do that for you.

Hello, I am a GM and I cannot get the connection test to work. I have followed your instructions without success. I also read through 30+ pages in this thread since I noticed it gave me some more things to check, but still not working. You guys are just incredible with all the help you provide. Hopefully you can help me as well, thanks in advance.
1. Your LAN IP Address
192.168.1.1
2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router
Internal: 192.168.1.3 / External: 155.4.129.63 (This is also what I get when I visit a "My IP"-page although I cannot find that external IP-adress in my settings for the router, though I could be blind.
3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both)
Wired
4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private
Yes, it is set to PRIVATE. It wasn't before I found this thread but it did not fix the problem.
5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions
Windows Defender and I have set exceptions. First I turned it off completely without succéss so I turned it back on and followed the instructions how to set an exception for port 1802.
6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)

7. Confirmation as to what you have setup in your Router if changes have been made
I did port forward in the router-settings. See picture portforwarding below.
8. Confirmation you do or do not have any Virtualisation NICs
I am not sure what this means? I have a computer that is connected to a router (mine) that is connected to a internet station that is installed in the apartment. I propably sound stupid here, but I take the risk.

Hi lindhsky
Generally you only need to read page 1.
Unfortunately it looks like your ISP is using cgnat
Hop #2 is a private IP range reserved for use by ISPs and this is where the issue is.
Contact your ISP and say "I have a new home security system and I need to be able to do an IPv4 Port Forward to manage it. Can you help me set that up?"
They are more likely to help in that scenario than for a game - however they may not be able to help.

Yes Hamachi, ZeroTier, PureVPN etc - have a look at the Port Forwarding Alternatives thread - there are a few options in there - paid and free.

Hi
I had problem with the FG Classic it was the ISP is using cgnat.
I phoned them and they gave me my own IP. After that it worked as intended.
Now I have upgraded to FG Unity and also had to reinstall windows.
And now I can not access FG Unity from my second computer.
I use different ISP for the 2 computers
Here is what I have for my GM-computer.
1. Your LAN IP Address
192.168.1.83
2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router
FG: 192.168.1.83 / 65.99.130.204
Router: The same IPs
3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both)
Wired
4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private
In windows security page for Firewall and network protection I have it set to Private.
(My operation system is in Swedish, so I hope I looked this up in the correct place)
5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions
I use the AV that is included with Win10.
I did try with the firewall turned of and that did not help.
I have set exceptions for FG: TCP1802 (also tried all ports)
6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)
