World of Greyhawk - CC3 - Darlene-style ('ware, tragedy follows)

Some time ago when first grabbed CC3+ I looked around for World of Greyhawk maps. I ran across this great thread in the ProFantasy forums that blew my mind... until further down ... it blew my mind when I read the guy lost his hard drive and ALL the work:

It's worth a look, so amazing a recreation!

He has a blog and mentioned interest in starting over. I've been there with projects lost like that, I don't have much hope but I did toss him an email via the contact on his blog to tell him how amazing I thought his work on it was and my sadness for it's tragic end. Was cleaning links and saw his blog, decided to share all of this. Shows a little of what can be done with these tools if you have talent. Wow.

There was a project to do this same thing back in the 90s which I was part of. This should be the complete version. You're welcome to use those if you want.

The attached .zip contains the CC .fcw file.

if you look in the ProFantasy map library they have another Greyhawk Worlds Map and some symbols for the shields, etc..

The shields also came up on the ProFantasy forum and you can find a link to better ones if you look for that thread.

Alternatively, Anna B. Meyer's Greyhawk maps are available for free under creative commons, including heraldry, and are far superior to just about any other map of Greyhawk I've seen.

Anna’s maps are truly amazing - I’ve downloaded them in the past although it looks like more options are up now than before.

I am still partial to the Darlene look, that’s why I went nuts on those It’s what I came to RPGing on in the beginning. Second faves are the CC3 verisions only because I have some hope of being able to edit those for my own adaptations where the prettier photoshop ones are way out of my league to edit.

But yeah, her work - if only I had 50% of her talent.

I probably just have too little experience with the ProFantasy web site, but couldn’t find any Greyhawk *World* maps, only regional when searched in map downloads/catalog for “greyhawk”: https://secure.profantasy.com/library/default.asp

    Is there another place?

You can find a CC3+ conversion/update to newer symbols of it in the ProFanatasy forums of it if you search "Greyhawk"

Anna who was mentioned a few post ago did the better shields that you can download and make symbols, but these are also of use:

    World of Greyhawk Glyphs

    World of Greyhawk Mapping Symbols

I didn't list city/buildding/regional maps that were done.

For the life of me I couldn't remember the name for the person I worked with on the GH map, this was her! Was very helpful and kind.

Love and still use the map.

I agree, and as a long time friend and patron of the Greyhawk Cartography Demi-Goddess, Anna continues to improve her Greyhawk Maps legacy with climate versions, collaborating with Darlene to authenticate the Greyhawk Styled fonts originally created, and larger more detailed renditions as well as a move to isometric view soon to come..
