Unable to roll on tables with "-" in the name
I have some random tables, they contain "-" in the name. Seems the /rollon is unable to parse this. Is there trick that will allow me to keep the "-" in the name and still roll on the table (columns might also have this)?
I tried to use " " and ' ' around the name of the table without success. Using brackets also didn't work. I don't see documentation in the chat commands on such situation. The past is a rudder to guide us, not an anchor to hold us back.

Got an example? I just tested on 5E where the DMG has a table called Event-Based Goals and that rolls just fine. It's case-sensitive, however, and you'll get a table not found error otherwise.

Example "Character Creation - Home Worlds" for example. There are blank spaces. I don't use short names for tables, i use descriptive. I think the fact that has spaces around the "-" is causing the issue.
But I need workaround, otherwise not so pretty namesThe past is a rudder to guide us, not an anchor to hold us back.

I would agree with that assessment; the parser is using the space to see if you're using a switch (-c, -d or -hide) in the command. Maybe consider "Character Creation: Home Worlds" then?

Yep, changing "-": with ":" worked. It broke my table-ZEN but now it works.

Or remove the spaces from the hyphen?

As the tables are player facing, I want the names to be "pretty", so no camel cases or other notations that are looking more like a developer thing. I replaced the hyphen with column and all was good. Looks good as well.

Emdashes would also be appropriate. No one likes tildes. ::whaps @Nylanfs::

I prefer the em dash in this context when editing for academics, as I'm doing this week. Here's The Chicago Manual of Style, seventeenth edition: "The em dash, often simply called the dash, is the most commonly used and most versatile of the dashes. (In British usage, spaced en dashes are used in place of em dashes; see 6.83). Em dashes are used to set off an amplifying or explanatory element and in that sense can function as an alternative to parentheses . . . , commas . . . , or a colon . . . especially when an abrupt break in thought is called for" (CM 17 399; 6.85).
So,
Character Creation--Home Worlds
or
Character Creation—Home Worlds
The second choice—the unbroken em dash—is my preference.
