Question Looking to incorporate my custom races/classes

It's been forever since I've played dnd, let alone even use FG. I recently started grinding away relentlessly on my homebrew campaign and getting ready to get serious and play a lot of games.

In my campaign there are some custom races/classes. How would I go about incorporating them into my campaign within FG? For example, I know that when add Elf to your character sheet via PHB, it auto-adds everything to the character sheet. But how do I do that for say my Kenku, or Gearforged, etc?

You'll need to open the Races or Classes list from the Sidebar or Library, then add a new record. Within the new record, fill out the fields with similar wording to the races and classes from the rulebooks. The description box text is just informational. You'll need to fill out the fields on the Other tab.

    Regards,

Have a look at the nice wee videos here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...ul-information Particularly the ones on creating races, backgrounds and classes.

ah so I can do it from within FG itself? Can those custom items be exported into their own module(s)? I was going through some file someone wrote that explains step by step all the XML but it's taking foreeever. Someone needs to write a simple bit of software that you just plug in the data on the text boxes, and it spits out the module - that is unless FG will do this.

    It can.

Follow the videos I linked above, create your classes and races in a campaign that is just used for module making, and then export the module: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...#Module_Export

I did notice one thing that the video didn't touch on. It explained how to make the sub-race give you your proficiency bonus, but the particular race I am adding, you choose between certain proficiencies. Is there a specific wording for that, or do I just need to let my players know they need to manually pick one? The wording I have is "You gain proficiency in your choice of one of the following: Animal Handling, Athletics, Or Survival."

Edit: Nevermind figured it out: "You gain proficiency with one of the following skills of your choice: x,y,z"

This doesn't appear to work in the D&D 3.5E ruleset. Any guidance for that? Never mind. I figured it out. With help from another post I created a new trait called Ability Score Racial Traits. I set that trait to "+4 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution: Goliaths are massively muscled, but their bulk sometimes gets in the way when they’re trying to be nimble" without the quotes. The text after the colon doesn't show up anywhere that I can see, but the attributes are adjusted when you drag the Goliath race onto the character sheet.

Does anyone know how to add those trait links to a homebrew race in 5e? I have them added to the Traits on the 'Other' sheet, but want the on the main sheet as links like all the others.

Edit: Found a very long-winded way for now. I opened them from the Other sheet individually, then dragged them over.

You do realize that 3.5 and 5e are way different and making anything in 3.5 is way harder then 5e.
