    Sighing Valley Player Map [PotA]

I've looked just about everywhere I could think of for a map of the Sighing Valley in the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign that would be suitable for players. It seems to me that it would be useful to provide such a map to characters who have reached the pinnacle of Feathergale Spire and are looking out or who have found their way to the bottom of the valley and want to explore. Any suggestions?

The only one that was provided is the one that's there which is really only useful as a DM map. I suppose you could share that with the players but the numbering kind of gives it away.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

I'm not saying you should have to do this, but I ended up buying the entire map pack from Mike Schley (with dm and player versions) to support him directly and so I could use them in realmworks. I loaded the whole campaign into realmworks with the maps so the players could view everything offline. I'm not here to recommend that as it was a lot of work, but my players really like it and it has helped me keep track of everything. Here is a link to his maps. I think you could buy the sighing valley dm and player map individually if you wanted.

Mike Schley is the cartographer and he has the untagged/tagged maps on his site. You will want to compress the map before dropping it into the image folder in fantasy grounds (25-50% scale, quality 8 jpg should be fine)

He also has a free fixed region hex map that matches the text, scale and puts the rivergard keep and sacred stone monastery in their correct locations. Remember that the actual (and official) scale of the map is 4miles per hex and not the originally printed 10miles per hex. It makes a big difference as to how quickly players can get around and the ease of experiencing cultist reprisals after the haunted keeps have been dealt with. Well, without GM fiat.

Yes, you are describing the original problem. I realize this is the only map that ships within the module. I was wondering if anybody knew of a non-tagged version (i.e., from Mike Schley or otherwise) the same way other maps have been provided as non-tagged.

When I said, "I've looked just about everywhere" that also included Mike Schley's portfolio. He doesn't have this map in any other version other than the tagged one. I appreciate the suggestion although in this case it doesn't help me.

Thanks for the feedback, but unless you found this map yourself I don't think it exists. For what it is worth, I have all of Mike's maps. I use them frequently to augment my FG modules in ways the original material is unable to accommodate. I might have to take my copy of the Sighing Valley graphic and remove the tags. I've seen others do something similar with other maps, but not the Sighing Valley. I'm not a graphics wizard so this kind of work is cumbersome to me.

Hmmm.. I'm confused now. I know I've purchased maps from many different places, but what I'm saying is I DO have an untagged map of the sighing valley. The one that shows the spire in the upper left and says "sighing valley" at the top. I'm pretty sure when I purchased the map pack from Schley I received the DM tagged version and the player untagged version. I plan to show it to my players as they begin to explore the valley.

Hmm...I'll look at my package again. To be honest, I first looked on Mike's site to see if the map was even listed. My folder containing all of my maps is so big I prefer to check on Mike's site first to see what I should have in hand. Maybe he doesn't include a thumbnail of this specific map. So, there's hope! I'll write back if/when I find it. Thanks!

So I believe this is the correct link to the sighing valley only. For $2, it should give you the DM version we have all seen in fantasy grounds and the player version without the tags. As I mentioned, I purchased the entire map pack, but you should be able to get what you need for the sighing valley for $2 if I read this correctly as it says it comes with both versions.
