Another 14 pt font extension
MODERATOR: This extension has been modified to work in all Core based rulesets.
UPDATE: Just as an fyi, I have been using this with 3.3.6 and have not seen any issues with it. Given it only adjusts the font, I don't think you will have issues with it.
So, I'm constantly on a quest to make my font more readable. I love Trenloe's extensions. I used his base 14 pt extension and modified the style (not sure what the base style is) with a droid serif font I found. It is free to distribute with the apache license. I included a pretty big disclaimer/copyright/link that will pop up in chat when the extension loads, but I think I'm covered. Trenloe, please advise if for some reason I did something wrong. I show this as your extension as modified by me, which is really only for different font type!
I've attached a couple screenshots to show the different. The first is the standard 14 pt font from the original extension and the "droid" jpg is with the new font in the attached extension. I hope you enjoy!Last edited by Gwydion; August 8th, 2018 at 15:24. Reason: Update note for 3.2.2

Very cool. I've added it to the 5E extensions list. Thanks for sharing.

Couple questions -
What is the normal font size in FG? Looks llike 10pt
To Gwydion, would it be possible to do something between the default and 14? I find the 14pt in 5E screens to be too big. It seems to squish the lines (vertically) together. I'd like to see it in 12pt for a comparison. I looked at the .ext file to see what changes might be involved but I do not have software to work with the font extension.
Thanks in advance

You can open it with winrar, 7zip etc to get access to the XML's.

I'll take a look when I can. I don't typically see a lot of squishing but now that I'm getting more familiar with the basics of extensions I'll see what I can do. Might be a while till I get to it but I'll work on it!

Hey GarthGiantbane. I still don't see issues with squishing the lines with the 14 pt font when I use it for 5E, but take a look at the attached and see if you like it better. Same droid-serif font, just 12 pt (and 14 pt for headings) instead of the original extension I posted which was 14 pt (and 16 pt for headings). I hope it is useful!

I figured out the font change. I didn't realize the .fgf extension stands for Fantasy Grounds Font and there was a tool for it in the wiki. I took that and created the 12 point fonts in Comic Sans then updated the .xml's and rezipped it. Seems to work and look great. What are the rules for sharing my modification? I don't know the legalize in using the Comic Sans font like this but I'd be happy to post the .ext if it's ok. Here's a sample visual, I scaled the UI to 80:

Edit: I didn't see your post Gwydion. Sorry for not grabbing that instead but it was a learning process too. Thanks for the update, I'll still download it and have a look.Last edited by GarthGiantbane; January 24th, 2017 at 16:00.

Awesome! Glad you figured it out! As for sharing, it really depends on the font you selected and, in general the owner of the extension. I selected a font and confirmed I was free to distribute it so long as I included a copy of the apache license with it. (I researched the font online, found the owner and his requirements for using the font). You'll see that I included the link to the license in the extension. I'm not sure where comic sans comes from but I would check on what restrictions there are in terms of distributing it. I also credited Trenloe in the extension as all I did is what you did. He wrote the extension and I just unpacked it, changed the font size and specific font type, added the license reference and attribution to Trenloe.

Comic Sans MS belongs to Microsoft. I did not see anywhere that it was free to distribute so for now, I'll keep it to myself
