Adding new ability. Madness?

I wanto to create a new attribute to my player characters. It's the madness one, from the DMG. But i realise i can't.

Aside from the standard STR, INT, WIS, etc. Is there any way for me to create a new one?

That's sad. Does the DMG extension add this option if i buy it?

No, some of the optional rules in the DMG have been added but not that one. (and for those that have been added you don''t need the DMG module - they're all in options under House Rules).
