Science fiction maps?

I was just wondering if anybody has found a good way to build Science Fiction maps- something that would go good in a star wars universe? I've looked around and it doesn't seem like there are nearly enough maps in comparison to the amount of Fantasy themed maps.

Campaign Cartographer 3, with Cosmographer 3 I think this is what IronDrake used to create his very nice SF maps, som examples here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...l=1#post244390 and here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...l=1#post195360

Note: Cosmographer 3 has not been converted to Campaign Cartographer 3+ yet, so if you go this route you'll need to install Campaign Cartographer 3 (no plus) then Cosmographer 3. You get both CC3 and CC3+ with the base Campaign Cartographer purchase. Cosmographer is on the list to be converted to CC3+, but I haven't seen a target date - all of the other CC3 add-ons that were upgraded to CC3+ have been released for free, so your purchase of Cosmographer will be able to be used with CC3+ when it is updated.

So, I'd recommend going for these. Also, the July 2012 edition of the CC Annual had SciFi tiles: https://www.profantasy.com/annual/2012/july12.html So you might want to pick that up (CC3 compatible only too). Have a look at the videos attached to see how to use CC3 - and also spend some time looking at Joe Sweeney's videos in general, they're a great introduction to how to use the features and power of CC3: https://www.youtube.com/user/joesweeney88

Note: the biggest complaint about CC3 is the "learning curve". No application exists that makes amazing maps without learning how to use it. Spend the time with the videos to learn about layers and sheets (and their effects), and you'll soon be producing amazing maps - even without any artistic ability!

I can second what Trenloe said both about the power of CC3 and that it definitely has a learning curve.

Also Dungeon Designer 3/3+ can be used for all kinds of "dungeons" including SF. Its tilesets definitely lean more towards fantasy but it also has full-featured drawing tools and the ability to create your own tiles and parts for assembling your maps.

0 hrs deckplans on DrivethruRPG are nice, a little derivative but nice.
Dramascape's Scifi tiles are also pretty good.
