New old ideas for DnD, FG could make that happen, I hope

I'm sure we've all seen that video of a bunch of college students playing on a Windows Surface table where the minis can be read by the computer screen (bringing up the character stats and such) and with automated dice. That's not what I'm really asking about, although the minis thing was pretty cool.

    And bump if needed

I was wanting to know if anyone has used a Surface or monitor on a table with FG running, and the players able to see the maps, and how smoothly did your game go. I'm wanting to do this with a Win10 surface in each of my players' hands but I'm wondering (new user) about those players that want to use real dice. Really new user to FG. Is there a simple way to include those rolls with the software. Is there somewhere I can manually enter their rolls.

    Cheers

There are plenty of people using flat screens embedded in tabletops or overhead projectors so yes - that would work.
The dice rolling - not so much. There is no way to input your manual roll results into FG.
And if you are buying surfaces for your players - sign me up for the next session!

This is untrue, you aren't tied to having to use the dice. You can always manually adjust information (manually add damage to a PC/NPC record, etc.) or you can setup a couple of attack and damage entries that allow using the modifier box to manually specify the total of the attack/damage and drag them to the relevant targets for FG auto resolution.
