REQUEST: Include Extension version details in the Launcher
One for the Smiteworks devs.
Would it be possible to update FGII's Launcher code to include extension version details?
It would be incredibly useful to have extension version numbers displayed in the Launcher on the Load Campaign page under Campaign Details as at present only the extension name is listed.
I know I can add a version number to the name of the extension however I would prefer not to for the simple reason that future updates of the extension would change the name of the extension which would then require re-selecting the extension in the Launcher before starting the campaign (something which can be easily overlooked following an extension update).
Hopefully not a big change but a useful one.

Current Project: Starfinder v1.1 - Character Starships
Completed Projects: Starfinder Ruleset v1.0, Starfinder Core Rulebook, Alien Archive, Paizo Pathfinder Official Theme, D&D 5E data updates
* All fluid by nature and therefore subject to change.

How about in the tooltip, like the author and dependency information?

That could work but it would still require the user to hover the mouse over the extension before the detail is displayed. I guess I was hoping to have the version information displayed as a field alongside the name (sort of similar to Rulesets name and ruleset tags) and thus always displayed and visible.
Either way I guess its better than having no version info.

I would just like to say that this would would still be an excellent idea.
Especially because of the advise given here to name all versions of the extension the same thing (with different version numbers in the xml file and announcement message):

EDIT: Extension filename (Zygmunt Molotch's idea) and version number (and perhaps author) would be so helpful. Loading Unity just to check a version number in an announcement is a pretty slow process.
While I can check it in the xml file, a lot of users don't know how to do that sort of thing.Last edited by bmos; September 30th, 2020 at 12:36.

necromancy at it's finest
the tooltip isn't a bad idea, then you can at least know the full file name...
