On this day some 40 years ago, the staff at GDW in rural Bloomington-Normal Illinois discovered there was a new SF movie coming out. We were just putting the finishing touches on our new role-playing game Traveller and so we wanted to see it. I recall that Loren Wiseman and I drove up to Oakbrook to see an afternoon show. And I recall driving back with Loren trying to remember all the details, and for every one saying: that works in Traveller, and that works on Traveller.
