Another thing you can do with DPS is import a map (non donjon) and modify it for your encounter. I needed a swamp encounter with a road so found a swamp map and justed added the road and some fallen trees. Players loved it.

I am a big fan of Dungeon Painter Studio having used it since its release to create battlemaps. It has a huge source of workshop modules that you can add for free to grant additional textures and objects.
An example of battlemaps that can be created:

If anyone has questions about the product or wants a demo I am happy to provide help via my Unofficial Dungeon Painter Studio discord channel:

Additionally I have a few videos on You Tube that you may find useful:

Hope this helps...
@ColinBuckler It's funny that you posted your ship pics when just last night I watched Rob2e's video on "Portals" mod.
I really enjoy Wonderdraft (https://www.wonderdraft.net/)
It's one time purchase, and you're able to add lots of community content for free. It feels like Inkarnate, except it's MUCH better.
Wonderdraft is good stuff, and I believe they're working on a sister program called Dungeon Draft I'm looking forward to.
Dungeon Draft appears to have released into early access. You can pay for it at the bottom of the page.
Interesting. Man, there are so many map programs as tempted as I am I just can't pull the trigger. I've been using Arkenforge lately for my maps but its awesome there is another option available!
This is one site that has community assets for Wonderdraft:
www.cartographyassets.com
That site also has an asset manager called Mythkeeper that helps put assets in the right folder for Wonderdraft (on Windows only at the moment).
A search for "Wonderdraft community assets" might turn up other sources, but Cartography Assets seems to be the main one from my own brief searching.
