Campaign Setting
Set in the Forgotten Realms in the year 1356 DR in nation of Thay.

Type of Game
This will be a patron driven high role play and exploration campaign with original storylines and NPCs. The focus will be on the Intrigue/Mystery/Thriller genres not traditional Heroic Fantasy. We will approach this as a Drop in Campaign where your character may be a regular or a mysterious guest who shows up at the right moment to deliver important information. Stars, co-stars, guest stars, or extras, all are welcome.

Story
You leave your mundane but comfortable life to become a mercenary for the largest guild in Faerûn’s greatest Mageocracy. Your first task as a mercenary is to escort cargo on a ship to Unther. There you will disembark and perform an on the ground investigation for ancient sites that may have magic and other secrets your guild will pay handsomely for. You are also informed that Lauzoril, Zulkir of Enchantment, will pay a little extra if you can discreetly lend assistance to the slave class in their uprising against the god king Gilgeam. You may find allies in the Molhorandi clergy or even the Church of Tiamat who the populace looks to as goodly deities compared to the oppressive god king. There are 10 major government and religious factions with dozens more minor ones to ally with or play against each other while conducting your archaeological exploration mission. Prepare to go beyond swords and sorcery to the ultimate game of cloak and dagger.

Quad-Weekly Tuesday November 15 9pm-1159pm ET

Characters:
Anything from 2nd Edition Player’s Handbook is permitted. Start at Level 3 with 1900 gp.

Voice/Text/Video:
Voice and Text will be necessary. Quad-weekly voice sessions will be live group session. In between adventures downtime will take place in a play by mail format on the off week (not real time). You can relax and wait for the next voice session or have your PC or loyal NPCs do simple side quests or tasks to increase your wealth and influence. Pick 1 action or task that could take several days or weeks of in game time. Webcams are optional. Privacy and anonymity will be respected if you don’t want your true names or faces revealed.

Recording, Podcasting, Livestreaming:
DM reserves the right to record the audio session and video record the FG program to produce a text based recap that will become part of the adventurers journal distributed to the party.

Started playing red box Basic D&D in 1986. DMed my first AD&D 1E campaign in 1988. Have been an enthusiast since the beginning and I am a Forgotten Realms historian/lore enthusiast.
