Actually, bennys aren't really like MgT2e boons at all. Bennys are a metacurrency that allow a player to spend one to do things like reroll a trait roll, reroll damage, do soak wound rolls, remove a Shaken condition or draw a new action card. Whereas MGT boons are a better odds at success dice roll. You also obtain Boons for very different reasons, in that they represent beneficial circumstances that favor the PC. Whereas SW bennys are awarded for being particularly heroic, making clever actions or for doing good roleplaying, such as involving your PC's hindrances while RP'ing.

I think they were more referring to how a SW benny is handled in code in FGU. The ability to pass them out..etc.. Rather than how they mechanically work for the system.
