Investigators Handbook vs Pulp Cthulhu

I was wondering is the Investigators Handbook is needed if I am going to be playing Pulp Cthulhu? Any help would be apreciated.

Even though I have it, we haven't needed the IH while running Pulp. It's a great resource, but not necessary.

IH helps you flesh out characters in creation more than anything else.
