Can 5e characters be exported into something readable outside of FG?
They can be exported as FG XML - see GM Actions -> Export a character here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...ter_Management
But, you then need something to convert the FG specific XML into something human readable. The "easiest" way to do this is to use an XML Stylesheet (in a .xsl file) that, in tandem with the FG XML data, creates an HTML page that can be viewed in a browser. But, this is very specific to each ruleset and would need to be developed to allow this.
Dr Zeuss did this for the 4E ruleset a while ago and made it available in his FGII Campaign Tools: https://www.drzeuss.co.uk/fantasy-gr...ilities-tools/ However, I don't think this is FG 3.0 compatible. A 5E compatible .xsl would need to be made anyway.
Hi all,
I am currently writing some software to take the XML file and print out a character sheet, I have early onset Parkinson's and I am trying to keep my brain functioning ATM. So the question is ......
Are people interested in software that would covert the XML of the FG export character and turn them into a printable PDF?
For one sparsely populated sheet produces 1400 lines of XML code (Non human friendly) which I am looking to populate a basic D&D character sheet with approx 75-90% filled in.
I need some additional characters to view what additional tags are being used that I don't and test my software I haven't designed the character sheet yet and would be open to suggestions.
to show what the main screen currently looks like....
please contact me on here:D

Most probably yes; but there's one around already https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...for-5e-and-DCC
Wont waste any more time.
If it is helping keep your mind active then it would still be worth your time. If you want it to look exactly your way then it would be worth time. If its to fill a hole in the ecosystem then you are right - find a different project :) Stay well.
just had a look in the link, I was thinking of 2-3 pages rather than 6-7. I'll keep at it and see what you all think.
