  1. A Neophyte Tackles the FG Extension - Change Effect Visibility with One Line (Part 2)

Due to posting limits, I have had to split this session into three posts.
This is part 2 of 3.

    (continued from part 1)

Now to decipher the statement in line 535 (FG v3.1.7). The statement starts with “DB.setValue”. From previous work for this blog series I know DB refers to the DB Package and setValue( ) is a function in that Package described in the XML and Scripting Reference. From the document I see that this statement writes data using the parameters ...
  2. A Neophyte Tackles the FG Extension - Change Effect Visibility with One Line (Part 1)

This is part 1 of 3.

It takes only a single line of code to change an effect’s default visibility behavior in the Combat Tracker. To discover and implement it requires a little work as outlined below.

Using Notepad++ I searched for the string displayed on the effect visibility button, VSBL, in the 5E ruleset subfolder, of the Fantasy Grounds data folder. No luck, the search failed to ...

The astute reader will immediately recognize that in an earlier blog I had mentioned I was abandoning this idea because FG v3.2.0 will make it moot. ...
  5. DC 12 Craft Check - Part 1

Reading Doug's post on dice inspired me to write about a nice Christmas gift I gave each of my players a few years back.

At the time we were a face-to-face group, and as so often happens in such a setting our gaming table was often overflowing with paper, pencils, rule books, minatures, dice, snacks, drinks... you name it - and I have an old "Board Room" Conference Table as my gaming table, and it was still overflowing! Suffice it to say, dice would go everywhere when we ...
